I always say that if you’re going for the best, then Las Vegas is the place you should aim for. This is America’s gambling entertainment Mecca and it pulses pure adrenaline, day and night, come rain or shine. Las Vegas has been nicknamed many things including Sin City, the Entertainment Capital of the World, the City of Lights and even The Strip. This entertainment metropolis is rich with gaming variety, hotels, extravaganzas, adult entertainment, bars, stores and everything else you’d expect to find in a modern-day American mega-city. And development is so intense and so furiously fast-paced that the city’s borders are expanding at a rate of knots.
You will be blown away with your Vegas work options
Now considering all of the above, it’s really easy to see what types of jobs you might expect in Las Vegas. Here’s a sampling of what I’ve put together and you’ll note that most of these jobs don’t require your being an expert card player, croupier or gaming aficionado. The list includes: builders, bricklayers, mixers, painters, engineers, carpenters, designers, managers, dealers, pit bosses, security personnel, servers, bartenders, croupiers, catering staff, restaurant managers, cleaners, room attendants, housemen, accountants, guest services, public relations personnel, marketing staff, sales staff, retail staff, technicians and on and on. It is abundantly clear that working in a casino or in the casino industry in Las Vegas is a dream-come-true opportunity.
Once you’ve decided to move to Las Vegas and are actually ready to get settled in, there are a few points you need to bear in mind. These include having a financial safety cushion so that you can afford to go on interviews, look for a position that matches your qualifications and even find satisfactory accommodation. I’ve been there and done that and I can assure you that the best thing to do is to have some savings to fall back on. Remember that Las Vegas is the city that waits on people. This means that in all likelihood you’re going to be involved in the service industry – there’s no escaping that. On the salary front you should expect to earn a relatively lower wage as this is standard in Las Vegas, Nevada. On the upside – you’ll be living in one of the most happening cities in the world!
